〈Avispish〉는 여러 스크린을 활용한 작업으로, 이번에는 단일 채널 형식으로 변형되었다. 작품은 서로 다른 개인들의 얼굴 캡처를 바탕으로 조각된 애니메이션 머리들을 선보이며, 각 스크린은 고유한 인물을 담고 있다. 이들은 다양한 표정을 통해 변형되며, 파편화된 대화의 시각적·음향적 내러티브를 형성한다.
이 작업은 권력 역학이라는 주제를 탐구하며, 개인의 역사와 문화적 배경에 따라 그것이 어떻게 다르게 경험되는지를 보여준다. 또한 디지털 감시와 데이터 프라이버시의 침식이 우리의 친밀감에 어떤 영향을 미치는지도 질문한다. 익명적 스토리텔링을 통해, 〈Avispish〉는 이러한 주제들을 독창적인 방식으로 표현하고자 한다.
Becoming Future
프로젝트 및 전시 시리즈 Becoming Future (큐레이터: 나비 나라, SOMA Art Berlin, 베를린 문화·사회통합부 지원)은 기술이 상상력, 정체성, 집단 기억을 어떻게 형성하는지 탐구합니다.
이번 FuturaCanvas x BeComing Art 협업에서는 Becoming Future가 공공 공간으로 확장되어, 가상의 아바타와 디지털 신화를 불러내는 영상 작업들을 선보입니다. 이 스크리닝은 테크-아트 분야에서 활동하는 다양한 여성 아티스트들의 목소리를 한데 모아, 알고리즘적 시스템 속에서 신화적 서사를 다시 살아나게 합니다. 이를 통해 고대의 원형(archetypes), 기계 지능, 생태적 미래가 교차하는 비전을 제시합니다.
SOMA Art Berlin
2014년에 설립된 SOMA Art Berlin은 베를린 크로이츠베르크에 위치한 독립 전시 공간이자 문화 기관입니다. 현대 미술과 학제 간 대화를 지향하며, 예술·과학·액티비즘의 교차점에서 활동합니다. Avispish is a multi-screen artwork, adapted here to single-channel, featuring animated heads sculpted from the facial captures of different individuals. Each screen presents a distinct character, morphing through different expressions to form a visual and sonic narrative of fragmented conversations.
The artwork explores the theme of power dynamics and how individuals experience them differently based on their personal histories and cultural backgrounds. It also questions the impact of digital surveillance and the erosion of data privacy on our sense of intimacy. Through anonymous storytelling, Avispish seeks to express these themes in an unusual way.
Becoming Future
The project and exhibition series Becoming Future (curated by Nabi Nara, SOMA Art Berlin and supported by the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion) explores how technology shapes imagination, identity, and collective memory. For FuturaCanvas x BeComing Art, Becoming Future extends into public space through video works that conjure speculative avatars and digital mythologies. The screenings bring together diverse women artists’ voices in tech-art to reanimate mythic narratives within algorithmic systems—offering visions where ancient archetypes, machine intelligence, and ecological futures converge.
