Artist Hyo-Jeong Seo combines everyday objects with media technology to render them unfamiliar, prompting audiences to perceive the ordinary in new ways through installation and performance-based works.
During the pandemic, she launched a daily coding initiative on Instagram—‹LOoP LoOP : Every day is a Code Project›—marking the start of her practice as a generative artist.
Seo views electronic billboards not simply as oversized televisions but as expanded architectural devices that interact with urban environments to create dynamic visual flows, and she continues to experiment on this basis.
Her projects have extended to public screens and international festivals across the globe, including the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History (South Korea), Kerry Center in Hangzhou (China), 10Square Tower in Singapore, Hoog Catharijne in Utrecht (Netherlands), the Shibuya Scramble Crossing in Tokyo (Japan), and Incheon International Airport (South Korea).
She has presented her work at numerous international events such as IDAF (Turkey, 2025), SIGNAL Festival (Czech Republic, 2024), BLINK (USA, 2024), Gwangju Biennale (South Korea, 2024), DEMO Festival (Netherlands, 2022), D:Art Festival (Singapore, 2022), Asia Triennial Manchester (UK, 2011), Kobe Biennale (Japan, 2007), and SIGGRAPH (USA, 2006).
